Eric Waananen
Head Coach
Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving
Starting his 4th year at VPA and his 15th year of high school coaching with over 25 years between club and high school.
Coach Eric grew up swimming in Northern Virginia for the Solotar Swim Team under some great coaches who later inspired him to turn into a coach. He competed for Oakton High School, West Virginia University and George Mason University Patriots Masters team specializing in 100 & 200 Fly.
He has worked with kids as young as 3 up to adults, who are learning to swim for the first time. His love for the sport drives him to keep teaching, hoping that through his coaching others will discover the joy of swimming.
